Not too surprising to see Sam Hill qualifying first.
@Dav3 The run was unbelievable! He took such a good line, even if the guy in front had'nt crash, Joost came in front anyway. Fantastic!
If if if my mother had a dick she wouldnt be my mother
i meen, Graves put himself in that position. Joost played it perfect!
i believe the point he was trying to make was that its all good saying that if this happened etc. but what happened happened end of

I think he rides for Scott, he's swiss and came out of no where, I don't think he was ever in the top 50 last year.
he rode for yeti and now for scott, mostly you could find him around the ranks 20-30 on the results lists last year, but in la bresse he was also on fire, we will see
He's very famous in Germany and Switzerland. Won most races of the European Downhill cup last year.
He is pinning it this season!

I sure hope that Gee Atherton doesn't win this time. Hill needs to win the world cup overall this year as well as worlds.
hmm i would have thought Arron Gwinn (sp) may have more chance but not to up on Riffles stats if im honest.
his knee injury hurts too bad, he wasn´t participating in the finals at la bresse also, only rode in practice...
GOOOOOOO SAM GOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And Peaty winning 2 in a row just before going to his home track Fort Will. Not a bad way to start off the season...
hill had a bad crash....but he was 2 seconds ahead in first split!he would smoke them all without that crash!!!so unlucky! props to Peaty anyway,17 wc wins!!!
That means absolutely nothing if you don't know when to ease off and when to get on the gas. If you can't stay on your bike you can't win. Now where did this happen last year...............?
you have to go more than 100% if you want to win,and thats what Sam did! by the first split you could guess that his run would be flawles,if he wouldnt crashed, even Rob Warner (comentator from freecaster) said that he puts his money on Sam today, but yes,Sam did crashed!! but i am just saying that I am sure he would win!!! even pros make mistakes, and sam is not the only one!!! so that was my point!!! cheers!
Yes, there is not doubt he is (one of) the fastest and best riders today. Problem is that he MAY need to ride a tad more controlled, because (also as stated by Mr. Warner), racing DH is about riding on the FINE line between control and chaos. going fast is one thing, and the closer you can ride to that line the better you are, but without a doubt the best of the best are as good as they are because they are able to tell when the push it and when they are too far over the line. I love Hill as much as the next guy, but I also agree that he may need to tone it down at times in the name of consistency. Another good point noted below by "ruckusflow" is that maybe going balls out at the top (or all run) isnt necessarily the best strategy....think about it.
true words right there....maybe he wanted to prove to everybody that he can deliver such a fast run ,and that crash costed him podium!! Gee and Peaty did a confident run which was in the FINE line (as you stated) between control and speed!! thats why they finished on the podium!!! Peaty is just donwhill Legend!he deserves it! but I really like Sam also(i can say hes my favourite),but he should control his self a little more when carrying such a speed
......also I would say props to Mick Hannah, for his 4th place today, couse he was sick all week, and he still managed to get such a fast time!!! cheers
"Hill took speed and tortured it until it screamed!" Ah, Warner. Another one of his legendary comments.

Incidentally Peat and Atherton were the only two riders in the top ten who were down on the first split! Yet they came 1st and 2nd. Its knowing when to push it and how much to save for the bottom section.
true, nearly all where up at the split time and lost their lead on the last 30 seconds of the track, exspecially Hill by his crash...

i was sure he crashed out of site there. if you look at one of the marshall's reactions a second or two after he goes out of site, i was sure word was gonna come up that he had crashed big or something.
