first of all who the hell are all the people in the pictures?...and more importantly life cycles has been giving us little snipits about this film for a good 2 years now, talking it up majourly, hurry up and give us a movie befor the stuf u filmd becomes out dated, mtb is developing to fast t piss around, the snowboard industry come's up with amazing progesive films each season! cant u do the same.

Those snowboard films take a few seasons to film as well, just like this one is. The people in the photos are listed right in the black border of it! Riders and the like. I don't think LifeCycles has talked up the film majorly, but more so the industry. It's called hype, and all films get it.

sherdforlife, do something in your life first to have the nerve to state such critique and demands. Who the F(lower) you think you are? And first of all: have you ever heard of marketing? raising up the temperature before the release, so people want it even more?

I'm pretty much sure there will be nothing like LifeCycles for some few years forward, so don't worry about LifeCycles guys. They will be more than fine.

With time comes insight and quality. There is a bunch of half-made mtbing films already, no need for another one like that.

Wait Raketa, do I understand you properly: you mean more or less that Life Cycles sort of warms up and old steak? That there are movies like Life Cycles and we don't necessarily need another one?

I've been waiting for this film for years now. But i think it is good they have taken their time, making it worth the wait. If it is really good it shouldn't really become out of date. Roam by the Collective still amazes me.

That's it, That's All took 2 years to film and that's how long it took to shoot this movie, why are people acting like it's taking so long? I also do believe now a lot of hype isn't coming from Life Cycles directly but people who've seen it. I've talked with a couple of people now who've seen it and everyone who has watched it is blown away. If it takes two years to make some that's new and different then I would rather have an awesome video every two years then crap every year. Of course I'm sure everyone isn't going to be a fan of Life Cycles and I'm sure they're ok with that. It's time we had something different and I'm glad they finally had the balls to step up and do it.

Unfortunately some people don't take even a bit of time to put their brain cells to work to wonder how much effort stands behind each second of the motion picture. Such quality does not come from equipment and even if someone thinks so, he better realize how much these guys must have worked their asses off, and how smart did they have to play that funding game, to get someone to sponsor that equipment: cameras, lighting, helicopters, cars, air flights. How many hours, days of phone calls, meetings, trips to those meetings needed to be done, how many times they heard "I'm sorry but no" or "Im not interested at all".

I guess nobody who never tried at least once to start his own business will never completely get that. Hype?! well maybe these guys took some bank credits to cover expenses uncovered by sponsors, so they need make sure they pay back the bill.

WAKIdesigns, I wasn't referring to Life Cycle, I haven't seen that movie, I can't comment on in. I was responding to sherdforlife's comment on delivering good things fast. Good things take time.

raketa: then you are cool! Big Grin everyone not liking Life Cycles, or posting any opinion that about them that is not positive is not cool... it's official now

Watched the media pre-release as well and Life Cycles totally blew me away. I've never seen a group of seasoned industry types give a 5 minute standing ovation after a bike movie. The reactions in the above video pretty much mirrored mine. This film just set a new bar.

After watching all their clips it seems to be more of an art project than a generic mtb film. I love it though, I hope it lives up to the hype. Definitely looks like it will be something unique regardless, which will be a welcomed change.

Because honestly, Follow Me was a sick movie (unfortunately with an awful soundtrack) but didn't have that fresh/unique feeling like The Collective did when it first came out. I hope this has "The Collective" effect.

I agree fully with your comments Mav. Life Cycles is more an art project than standard bike p0rn. Cable cams, helmet cams, jumps on barges, jumps in the alpine, coastal crew's unbelievable trails etc etc. I love it all but it's so common now that the only thing left is creativity in post production. That's why Brighter was cooler than Follow Me (imo). I am positive Life Cycles will blow us outta the water and start a new trend in film making much like The Collective.

You won't even believe how great this movie is. The opening segment with absolutely no riding left the place speechless except for one person who said semi out loud to a friend... "That was F$&%ing intense." The whole movie is like that but times ten. Clapping, cheering and whistling while giving a standing ovation still doesn't do it justice. Best bike movie of all time... But that's just my opinion. Just pre order it now and count down the hours until you can see it for yourself. Remember what Greg Stump did for ski movies? This movie will do that for biking... but it's even better. That's the only description I can think of to get my head around how beyond fantastic this movie is.

As far as other movies... I'd hate to be the next company coming out with a movie.

lol +1 on that last line, although I've not had the luxury of seeing it myself yet (Their shimano demo reels do look awesome though).

I'm expecting Life Cycles to be on a par with MDP's seminal 'Picture This'...only with RED production values. The Collective/Anthill and Ionate Films have delivered some amazing picture in the last few years and having another MTB-specific crew in the mix is a great thing for us all!

this is the direction mtb films should head, a good film like this can't be made in just one season. with the footage ive seen, its going to amazing to see the final outcome of the movie
