The Life Cycles Recut Contest has come to a close with 529 created and uploaded by the Pinkbike universe. I've spent long hours in there watching some and it is incredible the amount of talent and creativity some of these guys have! Now go in, watch the clips, share them around the net and on Monday we will judge the top viewed ones with the boys from Life Cycles and pick the top 3 to pick up some stellar prizing from Scott Bikes and Shimano.

 Great contest if we speak for the re-cuts there but i really want some information what is happening we wait for the results the Monday (20.09.2010) now is 10 days after that and we have no information for this delay.I'm curious when the results will be ready Smile (pretty sure I'm not the only one)

 ya, if they know anything about what they're doing they won't judge by views and faves and bullsh*t like that, they better be watching all of them or at least all of them over 100/200 views or something like that and decide on what is ACTUALLY the best

 hopefully they'll also see that some videos may have a ton of views but not that many favs in comparison.. hopefully my vid with only 1000 views will be considered, i lost my other 1000 since i had to make to cuts Frown

 What a great contest! Major props to Pinkbike and the folks behind Life Cycles for coming up with this!

I'm hoping the judges consider all criteria, not just 'max number of views' to determine a winner...

...as in, 2 minutes or less, does it get you stoked for the movie? Does the recut trailer express a narrative? Is the pacing of the edit on point or haphazard?

If the filmmakers have a say, I'm guessing they'll find the edit that they feel reps their film the best, and award 'winnership' accordingly.

Props to all who took part - some really sick edits out there!

 yeah for sure, some videos have a ton of views but very little favs in comparison, hopefully my vid will be up there with 1000 views.... but i'd be much happier if i had all the other views and favs from my rough cut combined too

Music choice is huge, and I have stopped watching many because the music choice was terrible.

 Hey Benko. I remember seeing that video> Maybe the rough draft one.. But I just looked at the final edit one and actually think the music went well with the edit.. Just like the first comment in your final edit video.

 Can't wait to see the results! Maybe the decision is that tough! My guess is the boys at stance got super busy in Vegas for the premier or pulled a "Hangover" and lost Derek on a rooftop somewhere. Just my guess Razz

 Yeah GREAT answer !!! I really expect more attention form the Life Cycles team. I think that this delay is really unprofessional. More or less we all put some time and hard work in those re-cuts and we deserve to know what will happen next.

 I think they are just finishing off the DVD to go to production on the timeline they set forth, so that is where the delay is. Cut them a break. They'll have the results. It's 500 videos to go through also.

 Maybe is 500 re-cuts and they are pretty busy BUT they had a contest and they must run it and after that if they are not able to do that they HAVE TO INFORM US WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING. And my excuses but 500 re-cuts i viewed all for 2 days without think to do that its few hours work and no matter how big problems they got is easy to comment here and will only take a minute or two. We have respect for those people and is does not fell right to watch every day and dig about some little info. Just forgot that i was in the contest because of these delay.

 I don't think the video's with the most views should only be considered as nominees. Some people on pink have a BAJILLION friends, unfair advantage to us that only have 4 friends! lol

 Yes, totally agree. This was an awesome contest. I was so stoked when I first heard about it that I couldn't concentrate at all until I could get home and start working on it! Also blown away with all the really creative and awesome recuts that people have come up with.

 Yeah this recut contest is showing who has the coolest and most creative content.

Its was hard (for me anyways) to make a video pop out at someone who has seen the same footage over 500 times. If you think along those terms you really have to put your video out there,

make it stand out...

 It's harder for those who don't have 500+ friends or whatever, but then again, that's also part of the game. There's no point in making an amazing edit if you don't do the 'advertising' half of things.

I liked mine lol but there are tons of editing styles out there and hopefully the best pick is the right one that pertains to the majority!
