Daire, he did that because he was smart. He had his cam on and if, by any chance, she was injured or had damage done to her bike (no way in hell) the footage could be used to defend, in favor of the man, in the event she prosecutes. He stayed in the 'right' by apologizing and insisting on staying with her as soon as she mentioned her leg might be 'broken' (no way in hell). If she filled a case against him it would be dismissed immediately. In fact, he has grounds to counter sew. Technically she can be brought up on charges of assault for irresponsible breaking without obvious reason to and, especially, for lunging at him with the bike.

The first two videos are funny, the third is disturbing. That woman went way off the deep end for something that was an accident. Unfortunately it is the responsibility of the uphill rider to yield the right of way which also entails leaving sufficient room in the case the rider in front crashes or stops suddenly. In reality it was definitely her fault but the fact of the matter is that generally the person behind is responsible for any collision.

Kenny I know I am tired and irritable right now having worked way too many hours in a row, but seriously "breaking" and "sew", those are pretty grade 2 spelling mistakes.

It amazes me when I visit the U.S. how common it is for people to be afraid of being sued. I was hanging out with a local rider in Hawaii over the holidays and he basically stated that he won't let his kid build a ramp in their back-yard because if one of his friends uses it and gets hurt his homeowners insurance might not be enough to cover a lawsuit.

Crazy bitches (or guy bitches) like this are not doing bike parks any favours at all. Are we going to see speed limits and closures on trails because of reactions like this? It might be that the crazy troll might have been pressured into going riding by her boyfriend. If that's the case guys, if you ask your girlfriend if she wants to go DH with you and she says no, respect her decision and do not EVER ask her to go with you again, ok? And city people, if you've never been on a MTB before make sure the 1st place you go is not a bike park or DHing.

She's obviously never skied or mountain biked in her life. Anyone who has knows that you don't just stop right in the middle of shit, or where you can't be seen by someone coming down the trail. I'm not a slug DH, but I'm always aware that there are people coming a whole lot faster than me, and I'm prepared to move over and/or stop when I have to. Listen for noise behind you, and it's not that hard to tell when someone's on trail behind you.

"It's mountain biking" ... sure is, honey, and if you can't cope with a little off now and then, maybe you should stay home, watch the baby and make muffins or something.

Love the first two vids - thanks for the laugh. But people, don't go hating on girl riders because of one chick who isn't capable of taking accountability for her own inabilities and accepting the consequences of a sport like MTBing. This is not a gender issue. I can't tell you how many times I've seen girls AND guys riding oblivious to trail etiquette and safety (e.g. stopping in a berm or the middle of a trail). But I must say, I've never met or ridden with anyone with a sour attitude like this women (at first it seemed the video was staged). She is the exception, not the rule. All of the women and men in my riding community are respectful regardless of whether they screw up sometimes or not (the guy's reaction in the video is exactly how my buddies would behave). I agree with the comments on here - #3 isn't funny - it's an example of what rarely happens and the type of energy the biking community can do without.

This chick came from behind me and tried to pass me as I was about to go off a sidehit which resulted in her launching off it by mistake. These city types go to the parks, spend $150 on a top notch bike, all the pads and protection and absolutely ZERO skill. Then they go on the gnarliest DH trail and cause accidents. I saw a group of TEN such people all walking their rental bikes down Trestle DH last season. Bike parks need to have a skills test passed before they rent their bikes out to these muppets.
