@deeeight, or on a blue tr250. thas what i was thinking. Congrats to Mike and all the top 10 finishers!!! I've loved Mikes designs ever since i discovered them in the sick threads contest, his win is more than well deserved.
First I would like to say thanks to this initiative and opportunity to us riders design a RS product, and then congratulate all the riders that gave their support to my sticker pack design. Then congratulate Mike.
Congrats to Mike for the win, the one with more faves but not the one with the best design, in my point of view. The thing is that most of the contestants didn't get the idea of a sticker pack they were asked to do... ...but hey, who cares!... Just go out and thrash your ride and your fork graphics!
I still don't understand why they gave us a file with a bunch of graphic stuff, saying that we got to use some of this elements, and then none of the top 3 has used them... I think I over understood the rules naive
nunomelo77- they obviously didnt pick the top ten by number of faves, as some of the ones in the top 10 didnt have many faves and there were plenty of entries that had more faves than some of top ten that didnt get picked including mine and these http://slandrews.pinkbike.com/album/RockShox-Designs/
I'm very stoked that I got top 10, still feeling a bit bitter, yes, but just because I followed very well the the dam briefing and had great expectations for that... I think some people vote for the quality and looks at some point, but then when get's closer and tighter some vote for their country fellows obviously.... however I've had loads of support from other country riders, very very cool.
But this is a american brand on a canadian website at the end of the day.
Congrats Mike.. The feather design was my favourite overall, and the one I was most surprised not to see in the top 10. Would love to see the feathers in a greyscale colour way.
Feathers please. Well done Mike, your a top top designer, they should give you a job, up to now theyve produced only shit designs, so you've trumped them by a long long shot. MOVE OVER SRAM DESIGNERS, GIVE MIKE THE STAGE!!!
so. .they are so beauty ...or maybe instead stupid marketing contests Rock Shox should focus on the technical problems cause I got second Totem 2011 in this year (warranty replace) both leaked from beginning and second like first one started to creak after few not very hard rides. I would be happy to have a great fork even without those stupid stickers which now I have two complets for nothing.
Well I mean you said "it should win" implying you think it still has a chance. I just thought you were unaware that the contest was over and I was just clarifying. Sorry if that offended you.
Could many different sticker packs not be printed off? Even if it was an after market purchase (which would generate more income), but would be so sick for riders to have even more choice. As this competition has proved there are a lot of awesome designs, and everyone has different tastes. Personally I really liked the 'FORESTRY' one that was one of the 3 finalists.
Except the second one (which is also good),i love all of those.third one is astonishing. Totally deserved won. Congrats man. I wish to own one of these.
Maybe it's too soon for creaking Anyway after my experiences with RS 2011 I think that they trying to sell a crap in the shiny box. And I miss for times when on first place was quality and next was look.
I feel like alot of you forget these are designed to be stickers, so while the bottom one is sick looking, it is impossible for that type of application.
Yellow ones are soooooo sick along with all the others. Hard to to pick which one is my favorite! Could i possibley place thses stickers on my rockshox domain some how?
that first design would lend itself great to different colors of lowers, it would look some kind of nasty in black with the graphic colors unchanged I think
Have to say shitTotally i ment second oneLittle bit drunk so sorryWa are celebrating my mate's last days on freedom))he's going to be married next weekendso sorry
mrpima was sick but i thought it was kind of childish and it makes the totems look tacky and kind of cheap. With the exception of the yellow one, mike's designs are so clean and high end looking and they really "fit the fork" rather than the majority of the others that could be a sticker pack for anything really. Awesome work
Don't put words in my mouth. I never said that everyone looks for charisma. I said that mrpima's design had charisma. The rest of the sentence (that I shouldn't have to write down) would be "...and I like that in a design". It's simply a matter of opinion.
Nothing better than to discuss likes and aesthetical preferences on PB... I like his deep design with a nuance of provocatory statement, you know, so centered stuff that expresses the spirit of the sport. At the same time it deconstructs the solid form of the stanchions of that astonishing fork. It reminds me of Edgar No's "Deadly fall of the undead cupid" or "Armature of the rejected" one of later pieces of Bo Harmony the 2nd, God rest his soul - fk me...
One thing is the fork graphics from production. Other thing is this sticker pack for fun, that is given when you buy a fork to do whatever you want, most of the people here sill don't understand this difference yet , if u stick this or not its up to you.
I hear you brajal. The reason a lot of people didn't get as far as they would have liked in this comp is because they didn't understand the rules. Amongst other things, you weren't asked to change the colour of the fork, or the stanchions. Just looking at the template it's obvious that the decals are already designed or are in the process of being designed and that we should produce a sticker kit to compliment them. Looking at the the provided PDF file you could also see the style favoured for the Totem brand.
Anyway. Top 10 and a pair of totems, i'm happy. Thanks for the opportunity Pinkbike/Sram/Rockshox
