Claw is the man, my all time favorite and even if he dosent win the way he use to he has so much style and strength he is always one of the nicest rider to watch on slopestyle and big mountain stuff too.

CLAAAAAAAAW !!!

their pretty big from the perspective of most non professional riders but i would rather see far bigger jumps since it is probably the biggest slopestyle contest.

flag sessionman123abc (Jul 22, 2011 at 21:01)
big jumps, but tiny compared to the last joyride. I miss those good old days

The course doesn't seem like the picture they drew up with all the different lines and features... Still should be a pretty sick contest.

Ya I agree this corse is alot smaller than previous years'. Maybe they got a late start this year with the huge snowfall whistler got. Its going to be a sick contest but def not as huge and progressive as they usually are for crankworks. This is supposed to be the hardest track around and it looks pretty tame by whistler standards.

i think its good, the slightly smaller course is going to allow rider's to get super tech in there runs, rather than normally seeing big whip drops or flips etc, Smile

but i think thats one of the main things that separates bmx from mtb mountain bike is wayy bigger

EVERY single rider that was asked today on the mic about the course complained. too small they kept sayin.
these slopestyle 'athletes' really need to stop whining all the time. shut the hell up, the course is the same for everyone.
makes them and their sport look like a bunch of whiny squids.

Even though its short it seems a lot better. If you remember last year how many riders crashed? It was almost too big. This year is smaller and looks like the riders could pull really technical stuff. A lot better than last year and hopefully everyone will have a chance to win, and not crash.

To me the course doesnt seem to have many alternate options like previous years. Dunno if thats a good thing or bad :-/

flag mnorris122 (Jul 22, 2011 at 16:28)
Yea, but this course is so short. Last year, it took a good minute to get down, this year it'll prolly only b about 40 seconds so u can't bust as many stunts. Also, these drops arent as trickable, and were all gonna miss the downside 3s out of the berm-drop. Overall, I think monster did a much better job than RB

flag jaketinnelly (Jul 22, 2011 at 18:25)
I think Andreu and Yannick do have a point. The jumps are too small. Although I thought the last ski jump and the first big hip were pretty decent! And although the course was short, it did have a lot of flow.

Biggest let down since Carmagedon!(L.A. joke) I dodnt quite understand how this is the bigger or gnarlier than last years....Redbulls drawing looks a lot better than what the course came out to be.....so many sick lines left out that were in the drawing... http://evolutionwhistler.com/article/red-bull-joyride-course-for-kokanee-crankworx-whistler compare will you! check out all that sick northshore stuff on the left..where is that!

you know when he drops in there is another line off to the left, are they allowed to take that during the event or is it only the right side??? there is two satellite dishes and a transfer jump? also what course have they been designing lately that has been put up on the homepage? its the meeting of the minds videos, is that just designing a track for a different comp?

flag Jerry26 (Jul 22, 2011 at 18:04)

First drop looks awkward because of the roller thing right before the edge. But this helmet cam only showed one of the many lines. I think the map shows three ways to go off the first drop?

He makes that look way too easy. I've seen the course for real and it is something to make the average person shit themselves, but then again the Claw isn't your average person!

anyone who is in whistler and has seen the course knows that it is sick, the jumps are big! Go Pro cams always make everything look small, thats why I hate Go Pro footage.
