DH bikes is pretty old construction so I do not what you mean.

Kona however made tons for mtb. That is for sure.

He means that Kona, along with the sport of downhill have been progressing a ton, especially within these last few years. The bikes can handle much more of the stuff riders throw at them, and are lighter and stronger as well. Just look at a 2005 kona stinky, compared to a 2012 Kona entourage, a lot has changed

I am sorry to hurt you feelings men but I competed on sponsor Stab 2010 and it broked. They are lighter but not stronger.
I ended with Santa Cruz V-10 and then never had any broblems with. I do not dh any more as busted my knee on motocross dirt bike. Now I am thinking to do Megaavalange in France on Santa Nomad.

Kona is not that cheap so add some and get something what lasts. You do not like Santa? ok get something else! From what I personally know Morewood is strong. Spec also great.

the operators are a totaly different design, i have heard stacks of the old stabs breaking but this bike seems to be strong

This is a real stab in the dark but I think s 3 stands for Season 3. It's nothing to do with the team.
