I know i'm gonna get neg propped for saying this, but i find it incredibly frustrating to see my local trails being poached by pros and then publicized when the trails are illegal and will get shut down if they are found.
But Voreis is pro and obviously will be considered immune to the normal trail rules that mortals live by.
But at least no names or locations were mentioned.
That is exactly what i was thinking at the end of this video. Very annoying! litteraly 5 min drive from my house soon the trail will be shut down again and we can get the $500 ticket.
The point of his comment is that we build they ride it park in the wrong spots, litter and dont give a shit "Not necesarily true for the people in this video". Then the trail head gets found and our trails get destroyed.
Yeah yeah, we all know the trail, but there is no evidence thats shows anyone where its located. Chill out and go ride it if you do know of it. Enjoy it.
I figured out where this trail is by hacking voreis's mobile geo locator. It was easy. Seriously though, this trails so blown out now. The local org. doesn't seem to be adding any momentum to legal DH in this area, so maybe we should get organized and finally get some legal land together in.. this certain area. And for the record, KV has thrown more dirt than you can shake a stick at, so he can poach the most sacred of trails if you ask me.
He's pro, so it's cool. If it's just some dude, NOT COOL! Only cool dudes get to ride cool spots. That's it, that's all. f*ck IT BRO! RIDE DAT SHIT DRINK BEER f*ck COPS
Nice job nobble, you just you told the world that this an lilegal trail when the producers of this film kept it to themselves, So you just made yourself you own worst enemy.
So glad I live in a place where mountain biking is accepted and encouraged. The provincial and local government actually provides grant $ to build trails (at least I'm pretty sure they do?). Either way, I'm happy.
There is a shitload of open land in SC, but everyone wants to shuttle the trails right next to town that always get a lot of heat from the local rangers.. Perhaps it's time to branch out and looking a little further north deeper into the woods. Dirt bikers are already riding the old Cemex lands that were just purchased by POST, seems like a good place to start....
All of these people have places to ride in town. I gotta travel hours to go shred DH. My town is all XC trails and theres a ton of potential to build DH trails but; no trees on our hills so theyd stick out and get shut down.
I hope everyone complaining about pros poaching their local trails here will be out putting in work this weekend now that the rain is here... These beautiful nor-cal trails ain't gonna build themselves. I got my tools stashed and ready to go, how bout you?
hey, im trying not to get offended here, but that was flat out rude. im not stupid, i asked for a god damn private message. when no one else wants to ride, i go solo and need to know where to drop in to find specific shit sometimes. Ive been coming up whenever i could (almost every other day) since september when i wasnt injured, and ive gone up EVERY SINGLE DAY these past two weeks, save one, ive been making friends, riding with whomever i can, ive asked about when people are going to build and i will gladly give my sweat and hard work to rebuild and maintain trails and z's should the rangers tear it up. but i wont stand for being called stupid for a simple question that was intended to receive a private response. id love to ride with any of you guys, but dont f*cking rag on me.
now that im done defending myself, i understand your sentiment nobble. also, isnt z's technically on uc land? one would think that these rangers sitting out there ragging on hard working riders wouldnt have jurisdiction there...
thanks gordo, i just dont appreciate being ragged on and told im a fool when im as motivated as anyone else... come on down when you get that 450 gordo!
i hate seeing videos of trails being poached on pinkbike! no immunity to anyone - if you didnt build it and its not public you dont get to post videos of it!!
Actually publicty may be good for dh trails. If it gets enough posative publicty then it may become legal. be happy u got people to ride with and a truck. i got a POS lil 91 honda accord that serves no purpose other then to go to school. truck blew up so i have to literally ride to a place, which in my town there are none lol or bum a ride. My bike is more exspensive then my car lol. but oh well i still shred when i can.
Nobble if the trail is good/wellknown enough to get "poached" by a pro i think its a bit late to be incredibly frustrated . Unless you were the original creator of this trail i take it your just one of those crybaby locals who doesn't like to share and your not helping the rest of us with your negative attitude calling fellow riders(pro or not) poachers . If you hate it so much find some private land to build on and plz dont make anymore crybaby comments ruining this sweet video i just watched .
secrecy is only good to a point. if enough people come and ride and make the trails safer/more legit and petition for legalization of these trails, there will be more leniency from the community. also, santa cruz has such a massive and amazing rider community, how the f*ck do fake "conservationists" and angry hippy ass-bags have such leverage to f*ck us in the ass?
yeah, it was somewhat of a rhetorical question i suppose...i come from berkeley, so i know the routine..like with this vandeman maniac...its just infuriating...
Definitely. Was just scrolling comments to see if anyone else noticed as I too just watched this. Not that this kind of trail really requires a lot of travel, but an Enduro like that has more squish than he is using. Weird.
Haha same, noticed it then went looking for someone else who noticed it.
It looks like he's riding a hardtail, best example is when he sat, the seat hasn't even moved by 1mm! But if it's how he likes it and enjoys it, well so be it. I just prefer to run soft suspensions ^^
It seems the common denominator in most of these comments is that Nor-Cal trails kick-ass! So many trails to choose from and thats not even covering the stuff that is up Highway 50 or 80 like Auburn, Georgetown, Tahoe, El Dorado Hills, etc! The whole state is full of singletrack!
That must be very nice indeed, but for Nor-cal, and Santa Cruz in specific it's very nice to get our share of rain due to the amount of riding all of our trails get and the bigger amount of riders there are. Constant up-keep is a must. That and it's nice to have the supplies (rain and foggy mornings) to keep the dirt tacky and ready for a nice build/ shred sesh.
Kirt has been on Fox gear for a long time. Fork is a Rock Shox and I think the shock is actually a Fox. However Fox clothing and Fox suspension are two different and separate companies.
